Beauty Banter: Rosewater Face Mist

Here’s a recipe to try, Rosewater is definitely my news favourite product for my face.

Redness is an epidemic of the skin, I personally suffer from an acute red face problem. It’s been unbearable and incredibly annoying, so thank god for makeup right? Well, I’ve given up wearing makeup because of other skin issues and just an overall time-saving. Trying to embrace natural beauty when you have skin issues can be a blow to anyone’s self-esteem.

So I decided to find a solution that didn’t require makeup or too many creams in the morning, that I can use throughout the day to refresh my face and reduce redness. I read that rosewater is great for complexion and skin, and it became apparent that this is something I should try. Unfortunately, most cosmetics come in plastic packaging, and I am on a personal mission to reduce how much plastic I use (I will be making a Zero Waste section eventually). So what better than to buy some glass spray bottles and make your own Face Mist.

Here’s the recipe I ended up using, and falling in love with, I notice a considerable difference with the redness of my skin. It’s also very refreshing and a great way to not only liven skin but also your mood.

2 teaspoons pure aloe vera
1 teaspoon vitamin E oil
1 teaspoon argan oil
4 drops of peppermint essential oil (You could probably use any essential oil I like the refreshing feel of peppermint but floral scents would be nice as well)
6 tablespoons rose water
half the remaining bottle with witch hazel
the rest with distilled water

Just shake before using, as you’ll notice they don’t mix the greatest on their own.

great to have, great for gifts, and all other ingredients are good for your skin on their own. So feel free to try it and leave a comment on what you think!
